A step-by-step guide on how to set up the multi-factor authenticator browser extension in the Cyber Risk Dashboard
To further enhance the security of your account in the Cyber Risk Dashboard, we highly recommend that you set up MFA. You can use authenticator apps to do so (see this article) or you can follow these instructions to set up MFA authentication on your browser by downloading one of the recommended apps: Chrome Extension, 1Password, or LastPass.
#1 Log into the Cyber Risk Dashboard
- First, click activate your account.
#2 Create a password.
- Twenty or more characters is recommended. Save that password somewhere safe like a password manager. Click create password.
#3 Click on set up MFA.
- Click next step.
- Click on go to last step.
#4 Click the authenticator extension in the toolbar in Chrome, upper right hand corner.
- Click the scan button, which is to the left of the pencil icon.
- Use your mouse cursor, which should look like a crosshairs, to lasso the provided QR code.
#5 When successful, the extension will show a drop down informing you that the account has been added.
- Click okay.
- Click the authenticator extension and copy the six-digit one-time passcode, OTP, and paste it into the six-digit code field.
- Make sure to paste quickly as each code is only viable for thirty seconds.
#6 When successful, you will be taken to your homepage.
